A Water Curtain Spray Booth with an Integrated Water Circuit
The Bomaksan water curtain spray booth is a wet paint mist capture solution that combines the water curtain, recirculation tank and pump group in a single body. Paint particles are captured through contact with the recirculated water curtain.
The water curtain is an effective and reliable capture method, particularly for heavy paint applications. The curtain distribution and the internal capture / separation section are designed for the paint load of your application; booth dimensions are engineered around the workpiece and plant layout.
For lighter paint loads where easy colour change is the priority, the dry filter spray booth is an alternative worth considering.
How the System Works
- Contact with water: Paint mist is captured through contact with the water curtain distributed across the surface. The curtain distribution is designed for the paint load of the application.
- Water circulation: Collected water is pumped back to the distribution line. Water quality, chemical conditioning and paint sludge removal are included in the operating plan.
- Droplet separation: The droplet separator removes water droplets entrained in the air stream. Access, cleaning and pressure drop are part of the maintenance plan.
- Fresh air balance: Extracted air is replaced with a controlled, filtered fresh air supply; fresh air and exhaust infrastructure are planned according to plant conditions.

How is the water circuit maintained?

Does the booth also capture solvent vapours (VOC)?
The water curtain captures paint particles; particle capture and VOC control are separate matters. For solvent vapours, a separate treatment (such as an activated carbon module) is evaluated based on the paint content and emission load.
