An Open-Front Dry Filter Spray Booth

The Bomaksan dry filter spray booth is an open-front booth that defines the painting area with its side panels and ceiling, and extracts air through a rear filter wall. Paint mist generated during application is carried by the booth airflow into the paint arrestor filter stages and captured at the source.

Booth dimensions are engineered around your workpiece size, application method and plant layout. Multi-stage paint arrest and front filter access allow easy maintenance and uninterrupted operation during colour changes.

Controlling paint mist and volatile organic compounds (VOC) at the source is critical for worker health, product quality and environmental compliance. For heavy paint loads, the water curtain spray booth is an alternative worth considering.

How the System Works

  1. Capture at the source: Paint mist generated during application is carried by the booth airflow to the rear extraction wall. The booth opening and air requirement are defined together with the process conditions.
  2. Dry filtration: The paint arrestor pre-filter and a suitable second stage capture the particle load. Media selection, filter change interval and pressure drop are evaluated together.
  3. Extraction and exhaust: Filter resistance, duct routing and exhaust conditions determine the fan selection; fan and ductwork are sized as one system.
  4. Fresh air balance: Extracted air is replaced with a controlled, filtered fresh air supply. System control is defined according to thermal conditions and room pressure requirements.

How are the filters changed?

The paint arrestor stages are accessed from the front. Filter media is selected for the paint type and load; the change interval is planned together with pressure drop monitoring.

Does the booth also capture solvent vapours (VOC)?

Dry filter stages capture paint particles; particle capture and VOC control are separate matters. For solvent vapours, a separate treatment (such as an activated carbon module) is evaluated based on the paint content and emission load.
